The “Centre for Excellence in Microwave Engineering (CEME)” is a research centre established at the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering as a joint venture between the company Astra Microwave Products Limited and the Osmania University. The Centre was officially launched on 30th October 2006 by organizing a one day workshop on Recent Trends in Microwave Engineering.

The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, College of Engineering, (Autonomous) has been in forefront to carry out Research and Training activities in the broad field of Microwave Circuits and Antennas since last 2 decades. The department was graded ‘A’ by National Board of Accreditation and also received ISO 9000 certification from Ministry of I.T, the University is accredited with 5 stars by NAAC. The department successfully implemented project IMPACT funded by world Bank, Swiss Development Cooperation and ministry of I.T.
